Ingredients
Scale
4 eggs
2 tablespoons red bell pepper, finely diced
1 tablespoon milk
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 (8-ounce) cans crescent roll dough sheets
⅓ cup whipped chive and onion cream cheese
8 ounces ground breakfast sausage, cooked
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Beginner Note: Greasing the pan prevents the rolls from sticking.
Whisk Eggs: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, finely diced red bell pepper, milk, and black pepper. Beginner Note: Whisking incorporates air into the eggs, making them lighter and fluffier.
Scramble Eggs: Scramble the eggs on the stovetop over medium heat until they are cooked through. Set them aside to let them cool slightly. Beginner Note: Don’t overcook the eggs, as they will continue to cook in the oven.
Unroll Dough: Open the two cans of crescent roll dough and unroll the sheets of dough. Beginner Note: Be careful not to tear the dough.
Combine Dough Sheets: Pinch the two long edges of the sheets of dough together to form one large rectangle. Beginner Note: This creates a larger surface area for the filling.
Spread Cream Cheese: Spread the whipped chive and onion cream cheese evenly over the dough. Beginner Note: Use a spatula or knife to spread the cream cheese smoothly.
Add Fillings: Top the cream cheese with the scrambled eggs, cooked ground breakfast sausage, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Beginner Note: Distribute the fillings evenly over the dough.
Roll Up Dough: Roll up the dough tightly, starting from one of the short ends, like a jelly roll. Beginner Note: Tuck the ends of the dough under as you roll to create a tighter roll.
Slice Rolls: Use a serrated knife to cut the rolled-up dough into 12 equal slices. Beginner Note: A serrated knife will cut through the dough more cleanly than a straight knife.
Bake: Place the rolls into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 24-26 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown. Beginner Note: Keep an eye on the rolls while they are baking and adjust the baking time as needed.
